Scientists and Physicians from around the world view tennis as the most healthful activity in which you can participate. There are other sports that can provide excellent health benefits and others that can provide excellent mental and emotional growth, but no sport has been found to combine the physical, mental and emotional disciplines like tennis does. Here are some of the main reasons why tennis can be played from the time you are 5 till you are 95.

*Aerobic Fitness – burning fat and improving cardiovascular fitness.

*Anaerobic Fitness – by offering short intense bursts of activity during a point followed by rest helps muscles use oxygen efficiently.

*Eye hand coordination – by constantly judging the timing between the oncoming ball and the proper contact point.

*Manage adversity – by learning to adjust to not only your opponents but the elements (wind, sun etc.)

*Learn teamwork – playing doubles successfully depends on the ability to communicate with your partner and play as a cohesive unit.

*Learn sportsmanship – The art of winning humbly and losing graciously is a lesson that every young or older athlete needs to learn.

*Problem solving – Tennis is a game of constant adjustments that need to be made in quick order of else the match can get away from you fast.

*Other benefits include – agility, speed, leg strength, balance, flexibility and most important of all FUN.
